The CRM filters

We have built a simple page filtering facility into the CIDOC site. This uses the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model.

Each page is categorized, where appropriate, as being about one of the following CRM classes:

• an Activity (E7)
• an Information Object (E73)
• an Authority Document (E32)
• an Actor (E39)

By selecting one of these filters, you will see only pages which are instances of the class you have selected. Since the CRM is object-oriented, this includes all sub-classes of your selected class. Thus, for example, Authority Document is a sub-sub-class of Information Object, so you will see pages relating to Authority Documents when you select Information Object as your filter. When you select No CRM filtering, what you actually request is a filter on the top-level CRM Entity (E1), which has all the above classes as sub-classes, and so selects every page in the site.
