The Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN)

CHIN provides information about Canadian museums, museum collections, archaeological sites, conservation resources and museological literature. The following bibliographic resources are accessible to to Canadian museums which are members of CHIN and to others who have paid a subscription.

Conservation OnLine (CoOL)

CoOL, a project of the Preservation Department of Stanford University Libraries, is a full text library of conservation information, covering a wide spectrum of topics of interest to those involved with the conservation of library, archives and museum materials.

Cultivate Interactive

Cultivate Interactive is a Web magazine which is funded under the European Commission's Digital heritage and Cultural Content (DIGICULT) programme. It is aimed at the European cultural heritage community including IT staff, information professionals, researchers, managers, policy makers, libraries, museums, archives, galleries, non-profit making organisations. It often contains articles of relevance to documentation specialists.

Globalmuseum webzine

This is a general site covering many topics, some rather peripheral to museums, but there are items relevant to museum documentation in the "museum resources" section and in its sub-section headed "archives".

Museumsrecht, Kulturgutschutz, Denkmalschutz = Museum law and the protection of cultural property and monuments

The purpose of this page, [edited by Klaus Graf,] part of the Virtual Library Museums in Germany, is to link institutional and private internet offers referring to the protection of cultural heritage (or cultural property) and to the law (or legal issues) concerning museums, archives and libraries. The common task of these institutions is to preserve, to cultivate and to make accessible cultural assets. The offices responsible for the preservation of monuments as well as foundations, associations and private initiatives are committed to the same aim. UNESCO archives portal

This site has a section listing 162 collections of archives in museums. A form is provided for adding new links. - [Accessed 2002-12-19].
